Papiya & Peter, Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa, The Lake District
The most quintessential English summer wedding in the Lakes.
We were introduced to Peter & Papiya through a previous wedding guests recommendation. They contacted us via Skype from their home in Ireland where we quickly established a great rapport. We loved hearing about how they met at University and about their love story and the connection that they felt for getting married in the Lake's. All the days either side of the wedding were not typical of summer and we were planning to photograph a wet wedding! On the actual day, one of those miracles of the British summer happened......it was a gloriously sunny day.
The hotel is AMAZING and offers so much to it's guests, the Winander Penthouse complete with its glass rooftop balcony offered us so many photo opportunities with breathtaking views across Lake Windermere. The service was exceptional which led to a very relaxed pre wedding preparation for both Peter and Papiya and their guests. We absolutely loved meeting their friends and family who had travelled from all over the world to celebrate with them.
The emotional service held in the Lake Suite with its majestic high ceilings and chandeliers, followed by a drinks reception and canapes on the lawn overlooking the Lake. Everyone was dressed in their finest whilst enjoying champagne in the sunshine! The wedding breakfast was served in the Windermere Restaurant looking regal with its oak panelled and mirrored walls. Speeches from friends and family members showed us just how loved this couple were! They were an absolute joy to listen too, it made us realise how lucky we are to do this job. The fun part of the day was yet to come............
Picture the scene......the sun blazing down, guests with full stomachs and happy vibes, all walking down to the hotels jetty to board the boat that was going to take us all on a cruise around the Lake. The sun was so warm, the champagne was flowing again and there was an uptempo beat in the air. Everyone was feeling so good......we had to keep reminding ourselves that this was work!!
The evening reception followed with an amazing surprise first dance, choreographed to "The time of our lives", literally the sound track to our own lives, which gave us chills down our spines. Guest's were encouraged to join Peter and Papiya on the dance floor and it was packed within seconds! A brilliant band followed for some lively guest dancing where everyone was the star of the show, a fun photobooth was available before we closed our photography with sunset and sparkler shots.
We loved the connection that we had with Peter and Papiya, their family and friends, and we think that this shows the photo's that we took! Their review seems to agree with our sentiment too.........................
"Sean and Louise came in as our wedding photographers having been recommended. We live in Dublin and Sean & Louise met us virtually on Skype for the first time and it was such a pleasant conversation. They were very professional whilst making it all look super easy. What a great couple of photographers. Louise was with us through the morning and captured absolutely gorgeous shots of us girls getting ready whilst never intruding.
